great expectations (not the lame book)
I have very high expectations for this course. Being a very environmentally aware person I was excited to see this class offered and that it fulfilled a requirement for graduation. I am very keen to learn about our environment on a molecular level. On the first day I was thrilled to see the format for this class. All to often we get teachers who settle into a routine and teach the same course over and over and loose the element of progression that is essential in a respected institution of higher learning. I think the blog format is a great idea and a good way to make the class relevant.

I'm glad to see that someone has good, high expectations for a 100 level course. I think so many people have viewed lower level classes as boring, unnecessary, or irrevelent. I agree that teachers do start to get lazy, so I think we're lucky to be in a class that has many new elements to it, not only to us, but to Kirby as well.

ReplyDelete1. Great Expecations? Lame? You must be joking...
Ok, maybe a little lame.
2. 100 Level courses are still rather important. New students going into college rarely seem to remember anything on the subjects they covered, and 100s serve to not only refresh those concepts, but provide great segways into the advanced followups.
